First time the boys competed at the all city wide Youth Chess tournament. The place was packed with chess enthusiasts from preschool to high school. Children compete with their grade level. This is a great opportunity not only to hone their skills, but great to meet other players. Parents/Adults stand on the side to observe the tournament. At the end, I think the top five or so players win trophies, but everyone else goes home with a chess mat and pieces, plus a ribbon!

Did I mention this is all FREE?
