I’m super happy how beautiful this turned out. What’s more exciting is that I finally got the “ear” to turn out the way is supposed to. ٩(◕‿◕)۶

After baking so many loaves and plowing through YouTubers for tips and tricks, I just couldn’t get the ear to rise properly. Don’t get me wrong, the bread still tastes great, but I can never achieve the coveted “ear”. Well, I can’t say I have succeeded because this is the first time. I’m going to keep trying to see if I can continue with this, then I would be super happy! I have to remember what I did this time that’s different from previous trials. Stay tuned…

Following a recipe from IG reel using the air fryer for the (lemongrass) chicken and hers turn out much crispier (at least that’s what I heard from the audio). I’m not sure what happened, but regardless, it still tastes good!

I’ve been following this couple from Korea (Aaron and Claire) on YouTube and they make the simplest Korean food that taste so delicious! Today I’m trying out one of their recipes – the Gochujang noodles. The recipe doesn’t require much ingredients – but need the Gochujang paste of course. The vibrant color of the noodles made it that much more appetizing.

Well hello there, it’s been a while…

Today was a beautiful day to kickoff my 2nd pop up event selling homemade steamed buns. I got great helpers this time so so the entire experience was a breeze. We were there an hour early to set up the stand/canopy and layout. To my surprise, we sold out of all of 250 steamed buns within the first 2.5 hours! 😱

Special thank you to @joesicecreamsf for being so supportive of small businesses and for allowing me host a pop-up event with you this Father’s Day! Such a memorable day for me!

Dai Bee wrote an app for me to take orders. This app talks to a google sheet form so the “backroom” can pick up the ordered items. We spent hours collaborating on how to streamline this process to make it as smooth as possible. Happy to see it all came to life on this day.

We set up multiple steamers this time but didn’t really need to use it since most people opted for frozen buns.

How about bao buns with leftover sliced pork chops for lunch?

I’ve been meaning to try hamburgers with steamed buns. Since I’ve been steaming so many buns lately, why not a few more? (@^◡^)

The last time I made shrimp burger, it didn’t turn out what I wanted (I combined it with some fish paste which was not a good choice). So this time, it was just all shrimp, egg and dunk them in panko before sticking them in the air fryer. I’m actually happy how this turned out. That’s a recipe to keep.

I love love clay pot rice and I’m always try to look for other recipes to make it. Recently I found one cooking with taro! I’ve never tried it and luckily had a small taro at home. Turned out the taro was a bit dry for the rice, but overall, it was a good recipe to try.

Today is the 15th the Lunar New Year. Like previous years, I love making cute character tang yuans to share. Of course, this year I’m going with The Year of the Tiger theme. They are adorable and it was hard to take that first bite.

These are the ones I made last year.

Braised beef tendons with noodles for dinner tonight. We’ve been finishing up the leftovers the past few days, and so we’re excited to have something different!
